This isn't a simple question and there are many views on the topic.
There are many studies showing that shields can be used in place of masks but the rules vary in each state & sometimes down to the county level. You should contact your county health department to see what the rules are in your particular county.
The CDC does not currently confirm that a shield is as effective as a mask and does not recommend using a shield when in contact with others, instead of a mask.
The W.H.O. says though the studies aren’t conclusive, a shield can be every bit as effective as a mask, in certain situations (pretty gray there too).
AARP recently published an article that a shield can be used instead of a mask unless you are in close contact with others not protecting themselves.
Our shields are a great form of protection & can be purchased at www.amerishield.com
